We talk a lot about mission, vision and family values at Trinity, but they’re all built on something even more important, our faith in the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Here are the foundations of what we believe:

About God

God is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. God has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

About Humanity

We are made in the image of God, to be like God in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although we have tremendous potential for good, everyone is marred by an attitude of rebellion toward God called sin. Sin separates people from God.

About God’s Love and Grace

God’s love is always freely available to people, and God is always seeking to be in relationship with us. God’s saving grace is freely available to all who seek forgiveness and seek to be in relationship with God. God’s grace exists for us even before we are aware of it. God’s grace brings us salvation and transformation. We cannot attain it through our own efforts. No power in the universe can separate God’s children from God.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and voluntarily paid for our sins by dying on a cross He arose from the dead after three days demonstrating His power over sin and death. His resurrection assures us of the power and presence of God and of our eternal salvation.

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to all people. Men and women can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. When God has begun a saving work in the heart of any person, God’s grace will be active forever.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for God. The Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of baptism. The Holy Spirit provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under daily guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit equips believers for service to the church, to the community, and the world.

About the Bible

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is God’s word to all. It was written by human authors, fully inspired by God. God’s word is present throughout. The Bible is the unique authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God. Scripture, tradition, experience and reason all work together to allow each of us to be able to interpret the scriptures for ourselves. Everyone is encouraged to join together in Bible Study and small groups for discussion to help in that interpretation.
